The 2018 Liz Hurley Ribbon Run features a 5K run and a Survivors' Walk. The 5K course will take runners through beautiful downtown Huntsville, including the Twickenham and Old Town Historic Districts. The race will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018 starting at the corner of Lowe Avenue and Adams Street, and ending at Huntsville Junior High School. Team awards will be announced at 7:30 am. The 5K run will begin at 8:00 am followed by runner awards at 9:30 am and the Survivors' Walk at 10:00 am.


About the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund

Local news anchor, Liz Hurley, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998. She established the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund in 1999 to support programs that create awareness about breast cancer, and to purchase diagnostic equipment for Huntsville Hospital’s Breast Centers. In 2004, Liz and Huntsville Hospital Foundation – in partnership with the Huntsville Track Club – created the Liz Hurley Ribbon Run to provide diagnostic equipment for the Huntsville and Madison Hospital Breast Centers, as well as funding for a patient assistance fund and the Surviving & Thriving program for local breast cancer survivors.
