Welcome to Adrian's Alligators!
Adrian, "AB," was born on July 2nd, 2016 at 23 weeks. Weighing only 1lb 5oz, he spent 131 days in the NICU between Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children and Children's Hospital in Birmingham. That first month at Huntsville Hospital's NICU was vital to his survival, and it was due in part to the lifesaving equipment provided by the donors to the Melissa George Memorial Fund! We are so grateful to the Georges for dedicating such an enormous effort in memory of Melissa, so that other families and babies in our region can be provided with the best care possible.
This year's proceeds from Swim for Melissa will be used to purchase a Voyager Isolette for Huntsville Hospital’s Kids Care Critical Care Transport ambulance. This important piece of medical equipment helps regulate an infant’s temperature and monitors vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. The Voyager Isolette also contains a ventilator for babies who need help breathing and a high-frequency ventilator for babies in respiratory failure who need greater assistance.
Please join Adrian and his big brother Rowan in helping other babies in our area by joining Adrian's Alligators as a swimmer, or donating to our team fundraising efforts.
